Keane from Battle
Sunday musical excursion #48
If you go down to the woods tonight, you’ll never believe your eyes. No teddy bears, but sprites, and nymphs, and strange lights that bedazzle and warn: simple things. Ssh! You must be quiet, and then they will come and speak to you, somewhere only we know. But beware they don’t pinch your bicycle.
Keane took their name from a benefactor, Cherry Keane, who died of cancer when the band were starting out, and bequeathed money to front man Chaplin’s family, which helped them survive through the lean years. They were founded in Battle, East Sussex.
Somewhere Only We Know
