What happened to father accused of raping and murdering his two year old daughter. One would think that an open and shut case, the mother might have been capable of murder but not rape.

As to Texas it is well known throughout the United States that Texas idea of criminal justice is anything but, The State (bur not the majority of citizens) have never left the "justice of the old West from 1870 to 1920. A time when 'justice' was meted out by the fastest gun. Their government is run by a bunch of boys who never grew up. They have 254 Counties - some with more coyotes than humans. Their State legislature meets for 80 days once every two years, So Governor Abbott is essentially a dictator. What more can you expect?

43 inhabitants in the county of Loving (great name). Yes, as I conclude, you can perhaps achieve justice for Texans, but not for Texas.

I'll enquire about Roberson and let you know.

Agreed. BTW Texas executes more inmates than any other State in the Union. Also is consistently among the States with the highest crime rates

Your enquiry comes at a propitious moment. Mr Roberson is still shortly scheduled for execution, but besides a petition for clemency to the Board of Pardons and Governor of Texas, a humane appeal has been made for his life by a raft of personalities including, in a latest move, the crime author (and attorney-at-law) John Grisham (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/sep/17/robert-roberson-texas-death-penalty-john-grisham-innocent): “What’s amazing about Robert’s case is that there was no crime,” Grisham told reporters. “In most death conviction cases, you’ve got a murder and somebody did it, but in Robert’s case there was no crime and yet we’re about to kill somebody for it in Texas. It’s so infuriating.”

The execution is set for 17 October.

Thank you, Graham, I take it he did not sexually abuse his daughter, then. His execution is deplorable, but the name of the game in Texas. We don't execute people any longer in California, thank goodness. Execution is not a hindrance to killing - it's just legal killing.
