A man who fights a war, and clings to his position of Prime Minister in order to avoid charges in his own county Israel, brought against him for fraud and corruption (sounds like Trump, right?) These two megalomaniacs are working against their own people. The ICC is NOT charging Israel, the Country, with any war crimes. Nor is it charging rank and file Israeli soldiers with war crimes; the ICC is charging Netanyahu - an indicted criminal in his own Country, some of his cabinet ministers, and military officers (but not all) with intentional genocide against the Gazan Palesitinians. And where did the ICC get this information? From dear Netanyahu's own lips.
I despise Iran and it's terrorists, Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthis. I despise Netanyahu and his enablers. I honor Israel and its right to existence. I wish the UN and Britain had been more thoughtful in drawing the shape of Israel - especially, the stupid splitting of Palestine. I think we need a two contiguous State settlement. AND Israel needs to haul in Netanyahu. Since their charges precede ICC he should be tried in Israel first. Then when he has served his sentence there, he should be turned over to the ICC for the international war criminal charges.
I posted this in order to - belatedly - establish some balance in an argument that is not entirely easy. In February I published without comment a speech given by Riyad Mansour, Palestinian envoy to the United Nations (https://endlesschain.substack.com/p/they-defy-the-law-and-the-law-is), and wanted to even things up by allowing Mr Netanyahu to say his own piece.
The part I fail to understand is where he says, "International bodies like the ICC arose in the wake of the Holocaust committed against the Jews. They were set up to prevent such horrors, to prevent future genocides, yet now the international court is trying to put Israel in the dock." The implication being that "such" means horrors against the Jews. So that horrors practised against non-Jews are not covered by the raison d'être of the ICC. This I don't understand.
All whilst saying that Israel is not party to the ICC. I'd have thought that the nation for which the ICC is alleged to have been set up (per Mr Netanyahu's words) would precisely be party to it. My local police court protects me from criminals who act against me. Why would I declare that I refute its jurisdiction? Because I might one day be a criminal within its jurisdiction? Whether I'm a criminal is not dependent on the court's jurisdiction, but on the facts arraigned against me.

Which is why it sickens me that he is trying to take down Israel, its history of humanity, and kindness, in order to protect himself and his corrupt and greedy cronies. Just as some people fear and despise all Muslims because of 19 maniacs responsible for 9/11 and Iran supporting 3 terrorist organizations, now those same people are blaming all Israel for one rotten to the core politician.
